Q. What is The First Tee?
A. We are a youth serving organization that teaches Lansing area children valuable Life Skills and Healthy Habits through the game of golf.
Q. Is The First Tee golf instruction?
A. The First Tee is not golf instruction. The Life Skills and Healthy Habits we teach are the primary goal and golf is the secondary.
Q. When does classes start?
A. We offer classes and programs throughout the whole year. The majority of our classes happen between June and August.
Q. What is the cost?
A. Costs vary depends on the program. All costs will be announced when registration becomes available. We also offer scholarships for our program. If you are interested in a scholarship, please apply for one when registering for classes.
Q. How do I register for classes?
A. There is a “Register” button in the top right hand corner of the website. Click on that and it will take you to the website that we use for registration.
Q. What program level do I sign my child up for?
A. If this is your child’s first time in our program, they are a part of the PLAYer level. In order to move to the other levels (Par, Birdie, Eagle, Ace), they have to go through a certification process.
Q. What is Class Dojo?
A. Class Dojo is a free app that connects teachers (Coaches), students, and parents. Classes that we offer have a way to connect parents to student accounts. We utilize Class Dojo to take attendance, message parents, post photos/videos, engage students in a safe social media environment, and offer points for students to use in our Bonus Bucks Program.
