Help young people. Because…young people will have the seeds you bury in their minds, and when they grow up, they will change the world.”
–Jack Ma

Help impact, inspire and influence a junior golfer in Greater Lansing!  Join the volunteer team at any of the five Program Locations of The First Tee of Mid-Michigan, and support a terrific character education program while teaching young people about golf and life!

The First Tee is a unique character education program founded on a curriculum of Core Values, Life Skills, Golf Skills and Healthy Habits, via the great game of golf! Open to youth ages 8-18, we help young people develop strong interpersonal skills, set goals, build resilience skills, and plan for the future. Our volunteers help us in many ways:

  • Deliver The First Tee Life Skills Experience Curriculum
  • Assist with data entry and office work
  • Help with special events
  • Mentor youth
  • Coach golf
